God's love and mercy are transparent in Vicky and this book. It is full of consolations and their call to holiness, at a time when the Church is burdened with scandals. Vicky's love of priests and the Church is a healing balm. There's a joy in The Canticle of God the Father that energizes us to build up the body of Christ.
Fr. Frank Miles, S.J., Loyola Retreat House, Faulkner, MD
The call of Pope John Paul II for a "New Evangelization" can be traced in this book by Victoria Spalding, as each us of is called to a personal conversion. The author reminds all of us that the mercy and forgiveness of God is a reality touching us through Word and Sacrament.

Vicky Spalding is a housewife and mother of two grown children. She is also a Secular Franciscan and Minister of her fraternity, Mt. St. Sepulchre, at the Franciscan Monastery in Washington, DC. After experiencing a sudden conversion in 1995, Vicky started receiving interior messages while in prayer. In October, 2002, a very holy priest confirmed to Vicky that God wanted her to write a book. The book, which Jesus asked her to call, "The Canticle of God the Father", is a compilation of everything that Our Lord has taught her since her conversion. At the request of Jesus, Vicky has also written a second book, "My Love for Mankind". Both books contain messages from Our Lord. Vicky hopes that all those who read these books will experience the true mercy of God and be brought closer to Him.

This book contains chapters on Our Lady’s and St. Joseph’s role as parents and disciples of Jesus, the solemnities of Mary, the Assumption of Mary, a meditation by Bishop Fulton Sheen on the Immaculate Conception, as well as meditations on the mysteries of the Franciscan Crown rosary. It also explains Mary’s role as Mediatrix of all grace and her desire for us to turn back to God. The theology in this book was proofread by Fr. Tom Weinandy, OFM Cap, Secretariat to the USCCB (US Conference of Bishops).

To Whom It May Concern:
I am Father William Foley, pastor of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. I am currently honored and humbled to be spiritual director for Mrs. Victoria Spalding. I met Vicky approximately seven years ago when I was pastor at St. Edward the Confessor parish in Bowie, Maryland. She was introduced to me by the late Deacon Kevin Barry. I had told Deacon Barry and others at St. Edward’s of my acquaintance with people (both clergy and lay) who had the charism of healing. Deacon Kevin had assisted the late Father John Lubey in his ministry of healing. At the deacon’s request, I celebrated a “Healing Mass” at St. Edward’s. I believe that is where I met Vicky.
Mrs. Spalding is an active parishioner at St. John Regis parish in Hollywood, Maryland and the leader in her secular Franciscan community that is based at the Franciscan Monastery in Washington. She also actively assists the Vocations Office of the Archdiocese of Washington in promoting vocations to the priesthood and religious life in her local community.
Vicky is the author of three books that reflect her intimate relationship with Our Lord. She shares a “message” at our monthly healing Masses and comments briefly on how it applies to living our Catholic faith. Her words are in complete accord with the teaching of the Church. When she speaks, she wears the brown robe of the secular Franciscans. It is a reminder to us all of the call to live the evangelical counsels of poverty, chastity, and obedience.
Sincerely In Our Lord,
Rev. William E. Foley

These pictures were taken by Victoria Spalding of a statue of the suffering Jesus, while visiting Mexico City, in August 2008. Both pictures were taken of the same statue. The first picture was taken with a flash; the second one without a flash.
As Victoria was praying before the statue, she asked the Lord to help her see him as He really was, so that she could hold Him and love Him and tell Him that she was sorry for her sins. She wanted to console Him greatly. As you will see from the second picture, it appears that the Lord answered her prayer.
Jesus told Victoria that there would be many graces given to those who pray in front of the second picture, as well as many healings. Regarding the picture of Himself, Jesus told her, “It is I, in all my glory, so that you may see how real and everlasting my love is.”
He also told her, “This picture will give graces of conversion to all those who pray in front of it. My love will overflow from my heart to theirs and back again, to teach my people that I am their God forever."
